Thank you for visiting my site! My name is Tom Butler and I am a classically trained animator who enjoys all things bright, animated, and cartoon-y. Growing up I always enjoyed watching cartoons and animated films (I even had my mother drive me hours to watch Spirited Away in theaters). That love of animation slowly brought me into the greater art world as a whole, with Hi-Fructose and Juxtapoz becoming my go to magazines in High School. Although I loved art and animation, it wasn’t until my Junior year that I began to see it as a career that I could pursue. Shortly after that realization I began drawing, and drawing, and drawing. I attended a local Art College to learn fundamentals and get my skills up. It was there that I took my first animation class and came to the realization that this is what I wanted to do! Over the years that followed I bounced around schools and programs to find the one that suited me the best, which brought me to Vancouver Film School. It was at VFS where I was able to learn everything that I had been hoping to, and it was the most rewarding time of my life! Since then I have been continuing to hone my skills and am always on the look out for new projects to work on.
